Hiatus

A friend of mine has been commenting on her lack of time in SL lately. She’s logging in, but not staying long. At one level she is concerned – she has loved SL and it has been a major part of her life and she has been a major part of SL for many. Of course she’s getting many responses to her comments, ranging from “well of course, you’ve been there a long time, your time is done” to “get back in there and find all the joy and creativity that exists”. Like many, or maybe most things, I don’t think it’s black or white – it’s a spectrum of grays. There are many reasons why someone with an active, healthy SL experience might be scaling back the time spent there. It may presage “the end”, but I think “the end” simply happens, without comment.

I have been on a slight hiatus as well. I still love SL, love my friends, have a list of places I plan to visit when I get back. But my physical manifestation is undergoing a severe energy depletion. There is only so much energy available, whether I want to do fun things or attend to obligations. When it’s gone, it’s gone. So I have cut back my time in SL in the interest of self-preservation.

So, my dear friend, try not to fret too much. There is a lot going on in YOUR life. Everything and everyone for whom you care is still here, caring for you. You will be back when you are back. To paraphrase Aragorn: A day may come when the interest in avatars fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. *grin*

It’s bitter-sweet, isn’t it? I fell away about nine months ago. I could have written your post, I felt so similar. It’s like breaking off a relationship that’s going nowhere. I miss some key people, but I stopped feeling engaged in the environment. šŸ˜¦ I’m happy now, I’ve gotten over the sadness – still miss the friends but I don’t miss the world. Maybe someday I’ll go back. But only if it feels right. Stay in touch, lady – follow your heart’s desire; after all it’s your free time! That’s a valuable commodity! Hugs!

If you want to learn how to jump higher, there are quite a number of
training programs available to help you reach your goal.
Generally an “all in one” program, it’s a basic, professionally designed guide, which covers every aspect of how to jump higher to be able to gain that much more height, being all you need to succeed. If leg strength were the only thing that would make you jump high all athletes would have the legs of bodybuilders, but this is not the case and that’s why you
see many great jumpers with pretty small legs.
